She may be a blonde beauty now, but Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow wasn’t always so confident about her body.
In a recent interview for SELF Magazine, the 38-year-old mother of 2 admitted that she never expected to have a “good body” and instead considered herself “bony up top and kind of dumpy on the bottom”.
However, thanks to a strict diet and plenty of exercise with her trainer Tracy Anderson, she has completely reshaped her body and feels great about herself!
Like a lot of other girls (and guys) out there, she says her biggest challenge area was her butt, but not anymore, saying:
“When Tracy met me, she said that I had a long, square butt that she was going to redesign, and I was, like, ‘Yeah? Good luck.’ The amazing thing is, she was right! And it’s still changing!”
How is she achieving her amazing results? Some good ol’ fashioned cardio! The actress broken down her training regimen, saying:
“I do 45 minutes of cardio five days a week, because I like to eat. I also try for 45 minutes of muscular structure work, which is toning, realigning and lengthening. If I’m prepping for something or I’ve been eating a lot of pie, I do two hours a day, six days a week for two weeks.”
She’s also got some advice for any women who want to lose weight, but aren’t quite sure they’ve got what it takes, as she continued:
“A lot of women think, ‘Oh, my God, I could never get there,’ but I don’t think that’s true. It’s simply relative to how much you put into it.”
Despite beginning her fitness journey 4 years ago, Gwyneth credits her active lifestyle as a huge factor for her bodies transformation, saying:
“I started this workout regimen four years ago. Being active is part of our life. Moses is 5 now and Apple‘s turning 7, and they dance around with me. Apple is really into ballet and flamenco dancing now! Taking care of yourself is being there for your kids, like how on a plane, they tell you to put on your oxygen mask first.”
She’s also careful about what she puts into her digestive system while snacking. Asked to name a few of her go-to snacks, the actress said:
“Raw almonds with raisins, or coconut water, or I’ll make a juice with kale, lemon juice, water, Vitamix and a little agave. I try to avoid barbecue potato chips. They’re my weakness.”
As much as we don’t like to recognize this fact, a healthy body means a healthy lifestyle and Gwyneth seems to have mastered both. She’s definitely an inspiration to anybody trying to make a change toward living a healthier life!
