Good news — to some!
Hailee Steinfeld is engaged to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen! The couple, who have been romantically linked since May 2023, announced the exciting news on Instagram on Friday by posting a picture of the proposal. In the photo, Josh is down on one knee in front of Hailee, surrounded by an arch of pink and red roses with water in the background. So romantic! They kept the caption simple, writing the date he popped the question — November 22. Check it out (below):

How amazing! People quickly took to the comments section to congratulate Hailee and Josh, including Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce. A source close to the lovebirds told People that both of their families are so happy about the engagement:
“They’ve been head over heels from the start. Their families are thrilled.”
However, it seems not everyone is over the moon about the news! Her Spider-Verse co-star Shameik Moore appeared to be upset by it! Right after the engagement post dropped, he cryptically posted on X (Twitter):
“There’s still more people to meet. More opportunities to come. And more chances to try. Live, learn, apply.”
Whoa! Why would fans think this post was about Hailee’s engagement? If you don’t know, the Pitch Perfect actress and Shameik have worked together on the Spider-Verse franchise since 2018 and portrayed Gwen Stacey and Miles Morales, respectively. And some people think that just like their movie characters, Shameik has feelings for Hailee — all because of his actions during their joint interviews. Let’s say he gets very flirty at times! He definitely gives off the vibes that he is crushing hard on Hailee! Wow! So, with all that in mind and the timing of the post, many believed that Shameik was heartbroken over Hailee’s engagement! See the comments to his post (below):

But the actor caught wind of what fans were saying and insisted his message had nothing to do with Hailee! He wrote in a since-deleted post:
“Had no idea Hailee is engaged! That’s amazing, I’m here reflecting on my 2024 goals that are rolling over into 2025. Gods timing.”
Hmm. He added:
“Also crazy what yall decide to engage with when I post”
Well, we all know who Shameik is not engaged with! Sorry, we had to! He went on to slam fans, saying:
“yall been twisting my words and fuckin wit my name for years now.”
