Hailey Bieber is opening up about her relationship with Justin Bieber, and how different it was before and after their September 2018 courthouse wedding.
On Thursday, the model spoke with BFF/fellow catwalk diva Kendall Jenner on her ZAZA World Radio series on Apple Music’s Beats 1.

In the interview, which also featured A$AP Ferg, the 22-year-old revealed the Canadian singer kept her in a “weird limbo” before proposing.
The two met in 2009, dated three years ago, but rekindled their relationship last year after meeting at Hillsong church.
Ferg mentioned to her:
“Do you feel like, from when y’all was together. Cause y’all been together for a while before y’all got married.”
That’s when Hailey replied:
“Not really. We weren’t really together. It was this weird limbo. We were friends and then it was like more, and then we weren’t. And then we didn’t speak for a very long time.”
Sounds like he was keeping her as a wife under glass — in case of emergency! She added:
“Negative things happened that we still need to talk about and work through.”
Hmm… We wonder what THAT could mean!
When Kendall mentioned that Miz Bieber hadn’t been in “any serious relationship before that,” Hailey responded:
“Yeah, I didn’t even know what it was like. That’s why I say it’s scary because I didn’t have any of that experience before… So I went from being a baby, not having a lot of experience, to being married, which I feel like… That’s why I say for you guys, I don’t think it’d be that different… I think when you’re with somebody all the time and you’ve been in a long term relationship, the only thing that changes is you’ve just made a commitment. To like, have to work things out… And it feels great. There’s a … most certainty you can have in a relationship is marriage.”
While she admitted “it’s definitely scary to be this young and be married,” Hailey is proud to be in a union with “the person that [she’s] literally been in love with for so many years,” adding:
“So, that’s the best part about it. Like I feel like he’s my best friend. And we just get to do life together forever, now. But I think the forever aspect for me is just like, you don’t think about that until you get married… And then you’re like, okay, this is really like, this is forever. Meaning like, there is no end.”
Mrs. Bieber says it’s been a big transition for her to being in a couple at all:
“[I’m] somebody who was never really in any serious relationships. Going from there to that, to that, to married… I’ve always been so independent. So for me, trying to cohabitate with someone and learn how to like, do life with another person, that directly has just been interesting. It’s so different… When you’re single you literally don’t have to think about anything else. You think about your family, because it’s your family. And you know, you love them. You think about your parents, siblings, whatever. But you don’t actually have to be responsible for… But I think that’s also what it’s like when you’re in a serious relationship. You have to think, you would know, you would know, you guys know. You have to consider another person.”
Hailey also dished that the couple have put their plans for a religious wedding ceremony on hold, as Justin receives treatment for depression — something that reportedly “has nothing to do with Hailey.”
