Hannah Brown Thought 'The Bachelor' 'Was For Losers' Before Getting Cast!

Ouch!!

Hannah Brown is never afraid to speak her mind, so it’s not a major surprise that she shared with Marie Claire she originally thought The Bachelor was “for losers” before getting cast on the show.

The 25-year-old shared with the publication:

“I didn’t aspire to be on The Bachelor. I didn’t watch the show. I thought it was for losers truly.”

But before becoming a household name and feminist icon, she barely had any money to her name! Prior to The Bachelor, the former Miss Alabama USA had a mere $70 in her bank account:

“A lot of these people [from Bachelor Nation] make a lot of money really fast. It’s been sickening how much money I’ve passed up…because I’m not doing the low-hanging fruit. I still need to hustle and make some money, but I’m doing a lot better than $70.”

Aside from bringing in some income, one of the side effects of her semi-unexpected fame is a LOT of followers on social media, which the Alabama native wasn’t necessarily prepared for:

“Getting Instagram followers when I got back home was freaking me out. Everybody gains followers, but it was like, Okay, I’m about to have a life with another human, and that’s what I’m going to be focusing on. And that didn’t happen. So now I have all these random humans who are really interested in me and what I have to offer. And I’m like, I actually have a lot to offer, don’t I?

Another side effect? Getting cast on a third reality series! Miz Brown is competing against the likes of Karamo Brown and Lamar Odom on this season of Dancing With The Stars:

“It’s not just about winning the Mirrorball. I want to be in this competition as long as possible because I know I need this growth.”

It may not be all about coming in first, but Hannah is definitely set on doing her very best:

“There have been times in rehearsal when my head will not even allow my foot to go because I’m scared of messing up. It’s that fear of failure.”

Dancing aside, there’s something else she refuses to settle for, and that’s matters of the heart. She explained (below):

“I will not settle. It doesn’t matter how lonely it might feel on a Saturday night by myself when I see my friends posting pictures with their husbands or out with the guy they’re dating. I don’t care. I would rather protect this [taps her chest].”

While the former Bachelorette still wants to settle down eventually, she’s realized since calling off her engagement that she isn’t in a rush anymore:

“I am totally okay on my own. I don’t want to have to have a man to feel whole. It’s not that I need that to feel like I have a full life. No, I have a full life. Welcome into my life.”
