Harry Morton's Brother Pays Tribute To The Restaurateur In Heartbreaking Post: 'I Lost My Best Friend'

Matthew Morton pays tribute to Harry

Harry Morton’s younger brother is mourning the loss of the famed restaurateur.

Days after finding the 38-year-old unresponsive in his Beverly Hills home from what turned out to be a fatal heart attack, Matthew Morton (pictured above with Harry) penned a heartbreaking Instagram post paying tribute to his big brother, whom he described as “that rare person who means so much to so many people in so many different ways.”

Calling the Pink Taco founder his “best friend” and “second father,” the Cha Cha Matcha co-founder began:

“I lost my best friend in the entire world, my second father, I lost the person that taught me everything growing up, the person that looked out for me, guided me, showed me the way. Pretty much everything that’s good inside me comes from a lesson I learned along the way from Harry. He paved the way for me to become the person I am today. I could never have asked for a better teacher or a better friend.”

Matthew went on to reveal the last words he said to Harry, just hours before he reportedly suffered from sudden cardiac arrest. He wrote:

“It’s really weird, I had dinner with him on Friday night, and spoke to him on the phone Saturday morning, the last thing I said to him was ‘love you frere’ and I am eternally grateful that I got to spend so much time with him.”

The business owner then advised his followers to tell their own siblings “how much you love them” before encouraging other young men to go out and “get a heart scan.”

Noting how sudden cardiac arrest claims the lives of more people (men, especially) than many realize, he explained:

“My brother passed away from sudden cardiac death, if you’re a young man, I urge you to go and get a heart scan. SCD is the single largest cause of natural death in the United States, it takes the lives of 325,000 people a year, and it is twice as common in men as it is in women.”

Matthew added that, in honor of Harry, the family is planning to set up a foundation for heart disease. He then concluded the post with a message to his brother, writing:

“I love you more than anything in the world frere.”

As you can see in the series of pics Matthew posted in his tribute, the brothers shared many wonderful memories together. See his full post (below).

Our hearts go out to Matthew and the rest of Harry’s family at this devastating time.
