It seems like we’ve been waiting FOREVER for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and we’re SOOO happy to say it’s finally here — well, kind of…
On Tuesday night in London, the theatrical version of the play showed its first preview at the Palace Theatre ahead of the show’s July 30 opening.

First preview of #CursedChild. No spoilers, but @jk_rowling has created a great story. Audience loved it. Me too. #KeepTheSecrets

However, there did seem to be one big hiccup during preview night, as one attendee shared that an animal somehow escaped:
#HarryPotter #CursedChild 1st preview blooper! No spoilers, but… An owl just got loose in the theatre. ├░┼╕╦£ΓÇá Intermission owl hunt backstage!

Despite the critter mishap, it seemed that Josh still enjoyed the show as he later tweeted:
#keepthesecrets … But it’s EPIC. #HARRYPOTTER #CURSEDCHILD @ Harry Potter and the Cursed Child https://t.co/BUjdis3Hph

If great fan reactions and animal adventures don’t excite you though, it seems that several reviewers LOVE the play too as The Telegraph, The Mirror, and The New York Times all PRAISED the show. The Mirror‘s Clare Fitzsimons even said:
“Spells and hexes combined with laughs and drama mean Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be every bit the hit everyone expects.”
While we still have to wait until July 31 for the show to open (and the script to be published and released in book form), we’re definitely counting the days!
Remember though, no matter what you do, listen to J.K. Rowling and don’t spoil the story for ANYONE!
Are you excited for the next Harry Potter adventure?!
