It's Official! The Harry Potter Play Will Be A DIRECT SEQUEL, All About Harry's Son! See What J.K. Rowling Had To Say!

J.K. Rowling
has finally revealed a bit more about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child — the brand new Harry Potter play set to debut in London in the summer of 2016!
We already knew that the show will be cut into two 2-hour halves, and will take place 19 years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!
But now, we have a better guess as to who the titular “cursed child” is, because it was announced that the play will feature a storyline about an adult Harry and his youngest son, Albus!

Rowling released a summary of the project with director John Tiffany and writer Jack Thorne, which reads:

“It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.”

AH-Mazing!
It will be interesting to see how the Potter legacy continues — we can only imagine how tough it would to live up to the family name when your dad saved the world from evil!
Plus, while it’s not technically a musical, we’re hearing that Imogen Heap is writing music for the production, so we cannot wait to hear what she comes up with.
Preview performances of Cursed Child begin on June 7 at the Palace Theater in London — and both parts open on July 30, 2016!
