The NYPD Is Ready To Arrest Harvey Weinstein! So, What's Holding Them Up?

Harvey Weinstein is THIS CLOSE to being put behind bars!
The NYPD is prepared to cuff the disgraced movie mogul for felony sexual assault, but is currently waiting for the green light from Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance to do so.
A law enforcement official told The Daily Beast that the department is “ready to go with an arrest,” after spending months investigating five separate sexual assault allegations against Weinstein.

One case that insiders say is especially strong is that of Lucia Evans, who had previously detailed her alleged Weinstein encounter in Ronan Farrow‘s 2017 New Yorker article.
As Evans told Farrow and detectives from the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit, she was forced to perform oral sex on Weinstein inside his Tribeca office in 2004, despite repeatedly telling him “no.”
SVU detectives are reportedly facing speed bumps in Evans’ case over her reluctance to deal with Vance’s office — which might be due to Vance’s failure to authorize Weinstein’s arrest in 2015 for groping Ambra Battilana Gutierrez.

Still, detectives say the investigation is “going very, very well.” Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce told the NY Daily News:

“We are still accumulating evidence. It’s going very, very well. We have a lot of information. We have a lot of information that we handed over to the grand jury. I would ask you to talk to Cy Vance. It’s his case right now. I would ask you to ask him, what his schedule is.”

Looks like the pressure’s on the (historically shady) District Attorney. Let’s hope he makes the right call this time!
