Listen up gay couples! You can now get legally married in paradise!
Hawaii’s state Senate on Tuesday voted 19-4 to legalize marriage equality, making them the 15th state to extend equal marriage rights to same-sex couples!
Yessssss!!!
The bill now heads to Governor Neil Abercrombie, who has promised to sign it into law!
Senator J. Kalani English spoke about this historical moment for Hawaii, saying:
“This is nothing more than the expansion of aloha in Hawaii.├óΓé¼┬¥
We expect there’ll be A LOT of rainbow leis being worn around the islands now!
Gay couples in Hawaii will actually beat Illinois down the aisle! The Midwestern state voted to legalize same-sex marriage earlier this month but their new law won’t take effect until next year!
Better late than never!
