You gotta give ’em a little Hawk Tuah… and grift on that thang!!
By now, you certainly know about the “Hawk Tuah” girl, AKA social media sensation and blowjob aficionado Haliey Welch. The Tennessee native went mega-viral earlier this year after she revealed her proclivities towards, um, sloppy oral lovin’ during a woman-on-the-street interview. Yeah. That.
Anyways, Welch has rocketed to fame ever since. Her social media channels have blown up, she started a podcast, and this week she moved onto the sinister phase three of her celebrity: she released her own cryptocurrency! Seriously!

The “HAWK” coin launched on Wednesday afternoon, and almost immediately, in no small part thanks to Welch’s mega-stardom online, the coin’s market capitalization shot up from nothing to more than $500 million! People were buying it up left and right! And then, by early Thursday afternoon (not even 24 hours after the launch), the market cap had rocketed back DOWN to $28 million.
That’s nearly a $475 million drop! In a day! YIKES!!! Welch had been pushing the coin pretty damn hard over on X (Twitter) over the last few days, so when its value shot straight up and then almost immediately cratered again, well, thousands of people who bought in and then immediately lost their money were pissed.
In fact, during a livestream she held on X Spaces, multiple YouTube vloggers who are active in the crypto space confronted the spittin’ sensation! Most notably, crypto vlogger Stephen Findeisen, who posts under the name Coffeezilla, called Welch out during that convo on Wednesday evening. He accused Welch of “rug pulling,” which is a word used in the crypto world for what happens when a coin’s creators build hype, drive up a new coin’s price, and then sell their own holdings for a massive profit… while leaving other investors s**t out of luck. You can see Findeisen and others go after Welch (below):
Findeisen was so mad that he actually got quoted in an NBC News article on Thursday on the matter, too! He said about the disastrous launch of “HAWK” and how Welch needs to own it:
“Influencers need to learn that meme coins are not funny when they come at the expense of your fans.”
No kidding!
As for Welch, neither the viral star nor her team responded to NBC News when they queried her about the crypto controversy. But she did post a message on X on Wednesday afternoon in which she blamed “snipers” for buying up coins and destroying HAWK’s market. Basically, in crypto, “snipers” are bots programmed by people to buy tokens as soon as a coin launches, and then re-sell them at a massive profit when prices spike. That, Welch claimed, caused the coin’s wild market fluctuation.
She also went on to add that her team “hasn’t sold one token,” nor were any influencers given free tokens to increase scarcity and drive the price up… But you may notice the community notes don’t agree and argue she’s just straight up “lying”:

Hawkanomics:
Team hasn’t sold one token and not 1 KOL was given 1 free token
We tried to stop snipers as best we could through high fee’s in the start of launch on @MeteoraAG

The folks down in the replies don’t believe it either! Here are just a few of the wildest reactions to Haliey’s claims of what went on with the coin launch disaster:
“Hawk Tuah in prison sista.”
“You going to jail bruh”
“There’s learning #Bitcoin the hard way, and then there’s this…”
“Talk tuah lawyer”
“Hailey I’m not even kidding when I say this, you are most likely going to prison”
“LOL no one believes this. Good luck in jail”
“Why didn’t you just have fun, do the podcast and the fun content while gathering more money than you’d ever have gotten? Why wasn’t that enough? Lol.”
Honestly, more than anything else, we want to know the answer to that last one, too. Frankly there are a LOT of folks we’d like to ask…
Reactions, y’all?? Share ’em (below)…
