Over the weekend, a mother apparently attempted to make her Navy veteran son the poster boy for #HimToo, the anti-#MeToo movement that stood against all the “radical feminists” scaring young men in America with their “false sexual allegations.”
Unfortunately for her, #HimToo caught on — and quickly became Twitter’s newest favorite meme.

In the since-deleted post, Twitter user @BlueStarNavyMom3 shared a picture of her son Pieter Hanson in his uniform and wrote:
“This is MY son. He graduated #1 in boot camp. He was awarded the USO Award. He was #1 in A school. He is a gentleman who respects women. He won’t go on solo dates due to the current climate of false sexual accusations by radical feminists with an axe to grind. I VOTE. #HimToo”

The tweet went viral, but not in the way she hoped. Soon, thousands of memes mocking #HimToo flooded the interwebs, featuring men from Donald Trump Jr. to Pennywise from IT.
But the best response came from Pieter himself, who gently explained to the internet that he does not share his mother’s political views:
