Hollywood Legend Warren Beatty Sues Studio Over Dick

Dick Tracy, that is.
Back in the eighties, Warren Beatty bought the rights to the franchise from Tribune Co, turning it into a hit film in which he starred and directed. It’s been many years since any new material starring the yellow-coated crimesolver, but that may have due to a roadblock set up by Tribune.
The company is desperately seeking to grab hold of the franchise, as it might be the only thing to save them from bankruptcy. Therefore, Tribune is suggesting that Warren’s hold on the detective has lapsed, since it has been so many years since a new project has been started.
But there is no screwing with Warren Beatty and he has just be given the go ahead to sue Tribune over the franchise. He contends that he attempted to bring back Dick Tracy as early as last year, but it was then that Tribune told him about the lapse.
We’re not interested in seeing anything about Dick Tracy unless Madonna is in it. That’s why we hope Warren prevails. We’ll have a better shot that way!
Or did she die in the 1990’s version? We can’t remember, but we’d still rather see Warren win anyway. He’s old and needs small victories!
