The Original OKRA Charity Saloon is a bar in Houston that is doing something most businesses would laugh at…
They’re donating 100% of their profits to charity!!
By the end of this year, the bar will have donated about $300,000 to around a dozen charitable organizations, which is so beyond incredible!
The director of The Oregon Public House’s board, Ryan Saari described why they were being so generous, saying:
“I believe in this model, not just for us but for my city, for our state, for our country. I think there is a lot of good that could be done, stepping outside of the box a little bit in terms of how we support and fund our nonprofits.”
What they’re really hoping is that other businesses and bars will become ‘charity bars,’ existing to serve others!
So if you live in Houston, head on over to OKRA Charity Saloon and get drunk while helping those who need it at the same time!
Who would’ve thought giving back could be so much fun?!
