UPDATE 6:50 P.M. EST: Tyrone Hankerson claims complete innocence. Read more HERE!

Need financial aid this semester? Twitter would say you better call Tyrone.
Tyrone Hankerson, that is; one of the six Howard University employees who was allegedly fired last year after an internal investigation found that several employees were stealing grants from the school.
University president Wayne Frederick released a statement on Wednesday confirming an outside auditor found that the financial aid office had misappropriated university-based grants to a number of employees.

Frederick said he was told there may have been “some misappropriation of university-provided financial aid funds” back in December 2016, so he launched an internal investigation.
The auditor found that between 2007 and 2016, several employees who were receiving tuition remission were also awarded university grants that, together, exceeded the cost of tuition. To make matters worse, the grants came from school funds that were supposed to help low-income students get their education.
Frederick’s statement follows an anonymous post on Medium that claimed Howard financial aid employees embezzled almost $1 million in funds.

The school president said the issue was reported to the Department of Education in July 2017, and confirmed the six employees were fired two months later. He did not, however, comment on how much had been allegedly stolen by those individuals.
But according to alleged screenshots from the university database, Hankerson, a former student-employee and recognizable figure on campus, managed to allegedly swipe a cool $429,000 before he was allegedly caught.
Naturally, Howard students went OFF about the scandal on Twitter, with many roasting Hankerson — a man who frequently flexed his luxurious handbags, mink coats, and Gucci swag for all social media to see.
Now, they see him as Joanne the Scammer! Ha!
Ch-ch-check out some reactions (below) to see what students are saying about the drama.

You know who to call, y’all.
