Sounds like there could be some BIG changes coming to Hulu…and we├óΓé¼Γäóre not so sure we like it!
In the near future, the online streaming website will be asking users to authenticate themselves by proving that they already subscribe to cable at home, by using their account number!
Huh?!
Isn’t the whole point of Hulu to cut through all that other mess and the hundreds of channels you DON’T watch, yet still end up paying for through your cable provider?!
More than ever, people are choosing to stream their favorite TV shows online so they don├óΓé¼Γäót have to pay for cable OR even TVs…so this really doesn├óΓé¼Γäót make sense to us. At all, honestly.
Of course, this comes as great news for cable companies — the model would mean people would be less likely to unsubscribe as cable customers if they want to stream for “free” online!
Don├óΓé¼Γäót get too worried, yet, though — this full-on authentication process could take years to sort out…so you better Hulu your little hearts out while you still can!
Guess nothing ever stays free for long…!!
