An Indiana man is being accused of stabbing his wife 40 times… apparently because she didn’t react to his Valentine’s Day surprise the way he wanted her to. And they wonder why women choose the bear…
According to legal docs obtained by Law&Crime, Taylor Meyer was taken into custody last week and arrested for the murder of his wife, Deborah Meyer. Per Jeffersonville Police Department detectives, the 34-year-old confessed — and even told them why he committed the murder.

Taylor said back in January he found a photo of his wife holding hands with someone he called a “coworker” and said it put a strain on their marriage. He said he tried to rekindle things with a romantic Valentine’s Day surprise, which he called “Bringing Paris to you.” He had their three young children “draw pictures of the Eiffel Tower as decorations”. This didn’t elicit the reaction he wanted, however. He told detectives:
“It was the hardest I’ve ever tried. She just didn’t give a s**t.”
Sorry, that’s the hardest he ever tried to make her feel special? Has this man not heard the phrase “too little, too late”?
After their dinner, his wife left the home, which he claimed was the exact time her coworker got off work. He said this “upset” him as he was left home alone with the kids once again and believed his wife was having an affair. Taylor claimed in the interview that Deborah was gone for 20 minutes and then returned. He demanded to see her cell phone, she refused, and a fight broke out.
The probable cause affidavit states:
“He stated that during the argument she punched him in the face and he grabbed her and took the cellular phone and told her, ‘I’m stronger than you’. Meyer told me during this initial interview at the hospital that it was ‘all wrestling and hitting, and I started choking her. She hit me with a water bottle and I hit her with a wine bottle and then I went and got the knife’.”
From here, the alleged murderer claims his wife kept yelling out:
“What are you going to do, kill me? You’re going to hurt me and leave our kids with no parents?”
Sounds like she didn’t think he would do it…
Taylor says he went through her phone as he pinned her to the ground before calling the man he calls her “boyfriend”. Per the affidavit, his wife screamed as he said into the phone:
“It’s your f**king fault. You want to ruin my marriage and tear my family apart.”
At this point, the man on the other end of the line became concerned and called the police, but it was unfortunately futile. Taylor is accused of knocking out his wife with the wine bottle, then grabbing a “big ass kitchen knife, a long one,” as he put it… and stabbing her in the chest over and over. Medical examiners say she was stabbed 40 times while the couple’s children were asleep in their rooms. Horrifying.
Taylor then texted photos of her bloody body to the “boyfriend” and attached the message:
“Your fault.”
He also sent the picture to a family group chat, per WDRB. We are absolutely beyond words…
When police finally arrived to the scene, they found Deborah’s body, as well as an “aggressive” Taylor, still looking for a fight, we guess. They arrested the man on murder charges and booked him into the Clark County Detention Center where he’s being held without bond. Despite allegedly confessing all of that, he pleaded not guilty and is slated to appear in court on March 18.
Our heart goes out to Deborah’s family and loved ones, especially her young children. May she rest in peace and get the justice she deserves.
