Idina Menzel Shares Inspiring Words After Her New Years Eve Performance Goes Viral -- From Critics Complaining About Her Not Hitting The Notes!

Show ’em girl!
Idina Menzel recently faced a lot of criticism after her New Years Eve performance in Times Square. Basically, people weren’t thrilled with her her high notes during a rousing rendition of Let It Go from the mega popular movie Frozen.
A lot of people took to the internet afterwards to write about their gripes with Menzel’s vocal work, and we guess the superstar performer heard it all because she recently took to Instagram to share one inspiring message for anyone that’s going through an equally tough time!

Here’s what the message said:

“This is something I said in an interview a few months ago. There are about 3 million notes in a two-and-a-half-hour musical; being a perfectionist, it took me a long time to realize that if I’m hitting 75 percent of them, I’m succeeding. Performing isn’t only about the acrobatics and the high notes: It’s staying in the moment, connecting with the audience in an authentic way, and making yourself real to them through the music. I am more than the notes I hit, and that’s how I try to approach my life. You can’t get it all right all the time, but you can try your best. If you’ve done that, all that’s left is to accept your shortcomings and have the courage to try to overcome them.”

Wow! Great points!
We do have a snippet of the video of the part people are complaining about (below), but we also don’t fault Idina for powering through a super COLD performance of a song her vocal chords are probably super tired of.
Hopefully the New Year will bring less criticism and more recognition to Idina for her supreme talent and skill and overall amazingness!
We’ll love you always regardless!
