Woke AF…
In a recent interview with EW Radio on SiriusXM, Broad City stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson address former Louis C.K. manager Dave Becky‘s involvement with their show.
After the New York Times published a shocking report where five women tell stories of sexual misconduct against the Louie star, the comedian responded by saying these accounts “are true.”
Days later, Becky — a manager at 3 Arts Entertainmentapologized “for not listening to and not understanding what happened to [C.K. accusers] Dana [Min Goodman] and Julia [Wolov].”

In regards to Broad City, Becky is one of the show’s producers through his professional relationship with Amy Poehler, who helped bring the program to TV.
According to Jacobson, the two are “figuring out” how to properly tackle the “upsetting” controversy:

“It’s definitely something that we’re figuring out right now. He’s not our manager. And he’s been a producer on the show through Amy from the beginning. And it’s like this upsetting thing to find out his involvement in the whole thing, so it’s definitely something that we’re constantly talking about right now.”

Although she is not responsible for C.K. or Becky’s actions, Glazer takes “accountability” for using Dave’s “white dude power” to advance her and Jacobson’s TV careers:

“We take accountability for using this white dude power to get our show on TV. We’re accountable for that. We’re not accountable for Louie’s actions, for Becky’s actions, but we’re accountable for using his power to get our show on TV.”

Truly a messy situation…
