They’re related?!
Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton are linked by one of their ancestors and a person that England would love to forget!
Sir Thomas Leighton was a tyrant governor of Guernsey back in the 17th century and he was a very hated man — so much so that historians among others prefer to ignore he ever existed.
But he is William’s 12th generation great-grandparent and Kate’s 11th, making them 12th cousins, once removed.
Kinda icky — but we think it’s far enough removed to where their future children won’t come out all wonky!
