It seems that quitting the internet is become just as hard as quitting other addictions such as smoking and drinking.
In a recent study, 1,000 participants were asked about how they would feel if they had to go 24 hours without being able to access the internet.
53% of participants struggled without having internet with one person even sayin that it was “like having my hand chopped off.”
Others experienced feelings of sadness and loneliness even if they were denied access for a short period of time.
Just like quitting an addiction such as smoking, many people go through withdrawal symptoms when internet access is taken away.
It’s pretty scary if you think about it. Internet has become such a huge part of our daily lives that it would be really hard to give it up.
It’s a good idea to get up from your computer and take a walk every once in a while. At least enjoy the sunshine for a few minutes. OR, you can you try doing absolutely nothing for two minutes.
