Is Travis Kelce Hinting At One More Football Season? THIS Cryptic Comment Sure Seems Like It!

Okay, Chiefs Kingdom and pop culture detectives! Gather ’round, because Travis Kelce just dropped a teeny-tiny breadcrumb that has fans spiraling into full-on conspiracy mode.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been playing coy about his future all season, dodging retirement chatter like a pro. But now? One little comment on his New Heights podcast has everyone convinced the man is not done just yet.

The moment in question came as Travis, 36, was chatting with his brother Jason Kelce about the Chiefs bringing back former offensive coordinator Eric Bienemy after three years away from the team. A normal football conversation, right? Except Travis didn’t talk like someone closing the book on his career. He talked like someone who fully expects to still be clocking into the building next season:

“I can’t wait to see him [Bienemy] back in the building, man. He’s one of my favorite coaches of all time, one of my favorite people of all time.”

Excuse us??? Back in the building? As in, the same building Travis would also be in?

Fans immediately latched onto that wording, because if retirement were looming, wouldn’t he be a little more wistful? A little more reflective? Instead, Trav sounded excited, present, and very much like a guy already picturing the next chapter.

And he didn’t stop there. Travis went on to gush about Bienemy and the impact he’s had on his life, both on and off the field, making it clear this reunion would hit him right in the feels. He talked about all the growth he experienced under Bienemy, which only fueled the speculation that he wants at least one more go-round with a coach who helped shape his prime years:

“I just love the guy and it’s going to be awesome to see him back in the building and see him back wearing the Chiefs logo, baby!”

BABY!!!

That is not retirement language. That is hype language. That is “run it back” energy if we’ve ever heard it!

For those needing a refresher, Bienemy originally joined the Chiefs in 2013 as running backs coach, later becoming offensive coordinator after Patrick Mahomes entered the picture. The coach left in 2022, and bounced around with the Washington Commanders, UCLA, and most recently the Chicago Bears. Now he’s back, and Travis sure sounds like he plans to be right there with him.

On X (Twitter), fans took notice of Travis’ comments right away. Here are a few of the reactions to his take on Bienemy:

“I fear we are at unprecedented levels of back.”

“We can’t wait to see you back in the building Trav.”

“It should be pretty obvious by now that he isn’t retiring”

“This doesn’t sound like a man that’s planning to retire”

Well then!

Interesting…

FWIW, Travis has stayed suspiciously quiet about hanging up his cleats, even as the internet dissects every move he makes on and off the field. But this comment? It feels loud AF!

Is Kelce teasing one more season? Keeping fans guessing? Or just accidentally spilling tea? Either way, don’t be shocked if he suits up again. This saga is far from over!
