Gatsby Star Isla Fisher REJECTED By Husband Sacha Baron Cohen's Hollywood Agent! Ouch!!

Isla Fisher’s rise to Hollywood fame and success hasn’t been easy.
In fact, her marriage to Sacha Baron Cohen hasn’t exactly helped her either, despite what one might think! The actress revealed to the July issue of UK Cosmo magazine that her husband’s success isn’t necessarily representative of her own:

“I really have had no help. In fact, the one time I did ask for help was after my agent in LA fired me. I was auditioning for all sorts of things but kept getting told ├óΓé¼╦£no├óΓé¼Γäó, so she just fired me! So anyway, I said to Sacha, who was my boyfriend at the time, ├óΓé¼╦£Can you ask your agent if they├óΓé¼Γäóll represent me?├óΓé¼Γäó And his agent said, ├óΓé¼╦£No way.├óΓé¼Γäó It was the only favour I├óΓé¼Γäód ever asked, and I was like, ├óΓé¼╦£OK├óΓé¼┬ª great.├óΓé¼Γäó But it spurred me on.”

She added:

“I├óΓé¼Γäóve had no helping hand in Hollywood. But in general I├óΓé¼Γäóve found that when it comes to getting jobs, what├óΓé¼Γäós meant for you can├óΓé¼Γäót pass you by.”

Isla continued on to discuss the role of women in the industry. She said:

“Women should not have to adopt masculine traits in order to succeed. You should be able to stay as a woman, and in tune with your femininity and still be equal. Women one hundred percent support each other in the movie industry. I auditioned for a movie recently and when I went in, the producer said he├óΓé¼Γäód told one of its stars, Naomi Watts, that he was auditioning me and she├óΓé¼Γäód said, ├óΓé¼╦£She├óΓé¼Γäós so funny, she├óΓé¼Γäós a great actress ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ you should hire her.├óΓé¼Γäó What a lovely, kind and supportive thing to do for another woman.”

As for balancing her career with motherhood, the Great Gatsby star explained:

“It├óΓé¼Γäós a myth that you can have it all. You can├óΓé¼Γäót. But, more importantly, I don├óΓé¼Γäót think you should want to. It sounds exhausting! I├óΓé¼Γäóm just dipping my toe back into work now. It├óΓé¼Γäós a juggling act and I├óΓé¼Γäóm not particularly good at it; the balls are in the air. But my priority is always my family. Motherhood boils everything down to the essentials.”
