As we previously mentioned, Simon Cowell‘s car had been bugged with a listening device.
Cowell had become suspicious when an unknown motorcyclist kept showing up everywhere he went and even outside of buildings where he had private meetings.
Simon’s security team checked everything out and that’s when they found the bugging device. And, now, Simon and his people have had enough.
Simon’s publicist, Max Clifford, and his attorneys sent out a letter to the press warning that “enough is enough.” The letter also stated that they found out who bugged the car.
It was a journalist!
Shady. Shady. Shady.
Clifford says, “We know who he is and we have marked his card and told him to never do anything like that again. We have always played the game and we are not precious but this is way beyond anything acceptable. So Carter-Ruck [Cowell’s law firm] has sent a letter out to everybody warning them about this and making clear that it is unacceptable.”
The letter asked journalists and photogs not to pursue Simon and photograph him in places where “he has a reasonable expectation of privacy, including leaving or entering his home.”
Clifford added, “Simon has been putting up with this for seven years, with people approaching him at all hours and we know that we have got to have working relationships with the papers but within acceptable boundaries.”
And when asked if Simon was upset over the bugging, Clifford said, “Simon is not getting stressed and not making a big drama about it but you know the game and he knows the game.”
So, the questions remain, did Simon say anything really juicy on tape and will he sue the journalist???
