It’s really happening. Donald Trump is about to be our president.
And we’re, obviously, not the only ones shaken by this impending reality as the Trump clan made a last ditch effort to get into the good graces of the American people by appearing in a pre-Inauguration 20/20 special.
Yup, the controversial politician’s kiddos — Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Donald Trump Jr. — rallied around their father by sitting down for a candid chat with the news program!

Thankfully, the journalists who participated in the interviews didn’t let them off the hook as they asked the (soon-to-be) first children the hard hitting questions we ALL wanted answers to. Be sure to ch-ch-check out the HIGHlights for yourself (below)!
Following Melania Trump‘s decision to stay in New York amid her husband first term in office, rumors began running rampant that Ivanka would become FLOTUS. We mean, after the 35-year-old stepped down from her role at the Trump Organization and her fashion label, it seemed like there was some truth to the gossip. However, the mother-of-three noted:
“There is one First Lady, and Melania will be an unbelievable first lady. I’m incredibly proud of her. She is intelligent, warm, caring; she’s a remarkable person…Today my focus is really just moving to Washington traveling around the country and listening and getting great feedback on how I can add positive value.”
And when pushed by Deborah Roberts to confirm whether or not she’d take on an adviser role in the White House, the businesswoman pivoted by saying she doesn’t even know what her role is to be yet. In fact, her main focus is helping her kids get accustomed to life in D.C. She continued:
“I tell them that their grandfather is going to Washington, D.C. with the goal of helping as many people as he possibly can and their father and I want to contribute to that in any way that we are able.”
Hmmm.

And despite their parents’ bad blood following the incredibly close election, Ivanka insists she is still close to Hillary Clinton‘s daughter, Chelsea Clinton. We wonder if Miz Clinton would say the same thing about Trump. Huh.
The blonde stunner added:
“She’s a very good friend of mine. She’s been a friend of mine long before the campaign, through the campaign…and will be a friend of mine after…I haven’t spoken about the specific challenges about this next chapter with her just yet, but I intend to.”
Well, well.
Next, Eric Trump wants the world to know, once and for all, that his poppa will NOT be involved in the family business. Yeah, sure.
When asked about the suspicious that his famous father is trying to profit from the presidency, Eric defended:
“It’s interesting that you use the word suspicion because that’s all it is. We’ve taken extraordinary, extraordinary, measures to make sure that the two were separate and distinct.”
We’ll believe it when we see it! But the 33-year-old’s defense didn’t stop there as he also relayed:
“My father has the biggest responsibility of any person arguably on the planet. His focus is going to be running this country. And my focus is gonna be running a great company.”
Donald Jr. expressed a similar sentiment as he explained that if the Trumps “divested” in their family business it could take years.
So basically they’re saying, if they divest in the Trump Organization and it could take four years to sell — and then if Trump Sr. doesn’t get re-elected it would’ve been for nothing.
But what about the four unethical years where Drumpf will be president AND have financial ties to his company? *sigh*
