Kate Middleton‘s nurse, who committed suicide last week, was buried today in a funeral held in her hometown of Shirva, India.
About 2,000 people joined Jacintha Saldanha‘s family at a service held at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church.
The royal aid and mother of two hung herself in her quarters at King Edward VII’s hospital in London on December 7 and left specific instructions for her burial in one of her three suicide notes.
At a memorial for Jacintha held on Saturday at Westminster Cathedral in London, husband Benedict Barboza described his grief to the press, saying:
“I feel a part of me has been ripped out.”
Jacintha was carried into the church to be laid to rest with Benedict and their 17-year-old son, Junal, at the head of the casket.
What a sad turn of events during such a happy time in the royal family.
