jaclyn hill issues full refund to all lipstick shoppers

Jaclyn Hill is backtracking on her initial statements about her lipsticks, and is now issuing full refunds to unhappy shoppers.
ICYMI, shortly after announcing the release of 20 nude lipstick shades, the beauty YouTube star began receiving flack online about the collection; with many complaining about poor quality, damaged orders, and broken lipsticks, while others reported about seeing fuzzy hairs and possible mold on theirs.

After her defensive video titled ‘My Lipsticks’ didn’t go over well with her fans, Miz Hill shared to her Instagram Story over the weekend that she’s now issuing refunds for the lipsticks:

“I felt so much pressure and panic to get a video up… I just wanted to defend my brand so bad. At this point, I have sent out my lipsticks to five different labs that test product vigorously. I have spent over $100,000 on this process. It sucks, and I’m so disappointed in myself.
Long story short, the lab that I worked with, I will never be working with again obviously. There’s been many people fired over this. We’ve got an entire new team we are building for quality control, because obviously that didn’t work.”

The Jaclyn Cosmetics founder continued:

“I have made the decision to give every single person who purchased one of my lipsticks a full refund. I think that’s the best thing I can do at this point…there’s a lot of people out there who love their lipsticks, and that’s great, but I don’t care. I’m going to be issuing a full refund, including shipping and tax, to every single customer from Jaclyn Cosmetics… I don’t care about the loss of this money… you know how embarrassing this is for me.
I will do everything in my power to make this right moving forward and learn from this lesson God has given me.”

Her company also shared a message to their IG profile, with information for consumers who are interested in a refund:

Previously, a spokesperson from the beauty brand released a statement to ET about the “compromised” lipsticks:

“The response to the launch of Jaclyn Cosmetics has been incredible. Of the incredible volume of orders that were placed at launch, we believe less than half of one percent of orders were impacted by compromised product. We are actively reaching out to our customers with questions and concerns and have added to our customer service team to make sure that any questions are swiftly addressed.”

Hopefully the next release is better than this one!!
