Advanced cervical cancer has left Brit reality TV star Jade Goody with little chance of survival, it is being reported in the U.K. media today.
Despite aggressive treatment – including chemotherapy which caused her hair to fall out – her cancer has spread to other parts of her body, and her doctors are now saying she has less than the 40% chance of survival they once gave her. They believe her cancer is now incurable, and are trying to do their best to make Jade as comfortable as possible.
While at this point, Jade has the option of refusing treatment, the star wants to move forward with different combinations of treatments.
Good! Don’t give up fighting!
It’s been a bittersweet week for Jade. Last Wednesday, her boyfriend, Jack Tweed, was released from jail, but earlier this week, Jade was rushed to the hospital after falling ill and collapsing at home.
Friends and family are suffering alongside Jade, who has started preparing her will and telling those close to her to expect the worst.
She’s been criticized for accepting payment to document her treatment on camera, but she says she did it to invest in her sons’ futures, which she may not live to see. Right now she is trying to spend as much time with them as possible.
Jade calls these latest developments a “nightmare,” but continues to fight on, saying, “I am devastated. I am frightened and I am angry. I don├óΓé¼Γäót want to die because I have so much to live for.”
Our hearts go out to Jade and her family. Here’s wishing her comfort, peace, and strength in the coming days.
