It’s over for Jaime King and husband Kyle Newman.
On Monday, the Black Summer actress filed for divorce from the director, as well as a domestic violence prevention petition. The two have been married nearly 13 years and share two sons: 6-year-old James Knight and 4-year-old Leo Thames.

This news comes after the 41-year-old was recently spotted running errands in Los Angeles without her wedding ring on, while Newman has been in Pennsylvania with the kids. According to a source who spoke to Life & Style about the matter, he left town pre-coronavirus in search of family guidance (below):
“[They are taking some time apart to focus on themselves … He’s been staying with his family for months and is leaning on them for support.”
The confidant added at the time:
“They haven’t filed for divorce yet, so everyone is just hoping they can sort things out before it’s too late.”
Seems like too late came up pretty fast and time ran out on their marriage…
It’s unclear when Newman will return to California at this point to reunite King and the boys. Neither Kyle nor Jaime have issued any statements regarding their split. Of course, we’re especially curious about the restraining order, hoping for the protection of everyone’s safety.

In December 2018, the White Chicks star spoke with Us Weekly about keeping the relationship with her husband fun and flirty after more than a decade of marriage and two children:
“I think it’s also about each person individually having things that they love. When each person individually is learning how to be fulfilled, whether it be through other friendships, through work, through creativity. When you’re fulfilled as a human being, then you’re not just relying on your spouse to give you what it is that you need, which I think is sort of a tendency with a lot of long-term relationships.”
She continued:
“Ultimately, my husband is my best friend and at the same time my lover, the father of my children, my favorite human in the whole world. And so when you come from a place of fullness, then you’re sharing from a place that’s really sexy and fun and free.”
Sad… We can only hope they will find an amicable solution together that’s best for them and their boys.
