James Cameron Puts 3D Movies (That Aren't Made By Him) On Blast!

Silly filmmakers!

Don’t you know that 3D movies only work if James Cameron is making them?!

LOLz!

The director has recently once again spoken out against the technology being used in the filmmaking process, specifically if it’s being converted in post-production.

He explains:

“I maintain you can’t do a good conversion of a two-hour movie with high quality in a few weeks like they tried to do with Clash Of The Titans. I don’t mean to throw that movie under the bus because my buddy Sam [Worthington, from Avatar] is in it, but I think everybody realized that this was a point at which people had gone too far. You see another stumble with the most recent Harry Potter movie from the same studio making the same mistake – except really getting spanked for it now because they didn’t get the film done. They announced it in 3D – threw a bunch of money trying to convert it to 3D in post-production and it simply didn’t work. They just didn’t get it done. Post-conversion should be used for one thing and one thing only – which is to take library titles that are favourites that are proven, and convert them into 3D – whether it’s Jaws or ET or Indiana Jones, Close Encounters… or Titanic.”

Titanic, huh? How convenient!

This guy can be a real piece of work, and we don’t COMPLETELY agree with the reasoning behind his thought-process, but we do have to say that he makes some good points!

Especially regarding Harry Potter! The movie looks amazing as is, and doing a hack 3D job last minute could have seriously hindered the quality of the movie-going experience!

Let’s hope that productions use a little more restraint when deciding what gets converted, instead of focusing on how to bump up the price of the ticket!

What do U think?? Do U agree with Cameron??
