Nothing like a little Twitter drama to keep us entertained while social distancing!!
James Charles has experienced his fair share of controversy in the past, but that didn’t stop him from getting into it with RuPaul’s Drag Race star Trinity “The Tuck” Taylor.

It all started when the YouTube beauty guru tweeted on Saturday:
“tested positive for having a fat ass ?”
While the replies to the initial tweet scolded James for a variety of reasons, like being insensitive amid the coronavirus pandemic, one message from the drag queen stood out:
“Fat ass? Girl who diagnosed you? Hellen Keller [sic]?”
20-year-old Charles then responded with:
“Damn, she must’ve mistook the lumpy silicone in your face as Braille instead of reading my actual test results ? My mistake…. speaking of mistakes, how’s your crown?”
It wasn’t long before the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner hit back:
“Awe girl that’s cute. Keep reading doll. I’m not the one who tried to break in people’s lines at drag con to meet u and ask if u can ship me free product ( my tucking panty) for a like and a post. But girl do u! That ass sure looks………”
The YouTuber replied with a screenshot of DM’s he had sent via Instagram:

James attempted to end things on a positive note:
“Nah, I needed it for Coachella & haven’t been to dragcon in over a year. If you’re gonna read me, at least come correct. Not sure why you’re taking this so seriously, I actually really enjoy your work and thought the initial tweet was playful! Wishing you the best ❤️”
He also replied to a fan, no shade:

This isn’t Charles’ first time feuding publicly, so it’s not a huge surprise he chose to attempt putting an end to things before they got too out of hand. As you’ll recall, he and longtime friend Tati Westbrook had an extremely public falling out last year, leaving the beauty community divided. He candidly spoke with Paper magazine about the controversy several months later, admitting his life had yet to return to normal:
“I’m not mentally in a place where I want to be. What’s even harder to swallow is that it’s been six months since all the drama happened… I thought by this time I’d be completely good — back to normal, if you will — and that’s not the case.”
After the feud was ignited with the fellow beauty YouTuber, he saw an initial nosedive in followers across his platforms while Tati’s grew. James explained how the intense drop got to him psychologically:
“We’re quickly getting to a point where cyberbullying, hating and cancel culture is getting stronger. I can say firsthand, they got to me. I was so grateful to be surrounded by close friends and family that were checking on me all day long, every single day, in the middle of the night, every 10 minutes to make sure I didn’t do something that I could never take back.”
