Shoplifting is no joke, but one of Jax Taylor‘s castmates laughed after discovering he had been arrested for allegedly stealing a pair of sunglasses!
The Vanderpump Rules cast was in Hawaii a couple weeks ago when the hunky SUR bartender was caught on tape walking out of a boutique with a pair of shades he didn’t pay for. He was stopped by police and jailed.

We caught up with Jax at the launch of costar Katie Maloney‘s Pucker & Pout blog Thursday night. While he didn’t talk about the incident, his costars revealed to us EXCLUSIVELY how they reacted when they learned of his arrest.
Lisa Vanderpump — who is an executive producer on the reality TV show AND Jax’s boss at SUR — was obviously unhappy. She admitted that he’s had been disciplined:
“Absolutely. We’re dealing with it. I am happy to say I see some type of remorse [from Jax]. People make mistakes and he definitely made a big one.”
Peter Madrigal — a manager at SUR — came to his friend’s defense:
“I know he’s innocent because he wanted to buy them. But he clearly forgot. He’s innocent.”
Scheana Shay actually found the incident humorous:
“I laughed, because it was so stupid. Everyone was like, ‘you’re such an idiot!’ If it was anything else he got in trouble for, we would’ve all been pretty sympathetic, but because it was straight stupidity, we’re like, ‘C’mon man! What were you thinking?'”
Katie disagreed:
“I was pissed. Why do something like that? So selfish! We were there for a good time.”
But the strongest reaction came from Jax’s best friend Tom Sandoval:
“I was really pissed, disappointed and embarrassed. Obviously, we’re grouped together — we’re the Vanderpump Rules cast. When we go places, people will group us together and now think ‘those guys steal things.’ So that pissed me off. At this point, we’re in our fourth season, he should’ve really just known better. You can’t do stupid things like that. People are watching.”
Since the Hawaii trip was filmed for the show, we’ll see the fallout from Jax’s arrest when Vanderpump Rules returns to Bravo for Season 4. The premiere date has yet to be announced.
