Jay-Z Might Be Forced To Testify In Diddy's Trial -- Details!

Could we be seeing Jay-Z take the witness stand eventually as the legal case against Diddy progresses?

That’s what at least one notable legal expert is cautioning the world about right now! Of course, Diddy is currently facing major federal charges on sex trafficking and racketeering allegations. He’s been fighting like hell to get bailed out of jail while awaiting future court dates and his trial. Those fights haven’t yet gone his way, though. And now, things might get a LOT worse if this part of the process turns out to be true!

Obviously, Diddy has been a central figure in Hollywood for a long time. His inner circle includes everybody from Jay-Z and Beyoncé to UsherJustin BieberRick Ross, and many, many, many, many more. To that end, there is now a serious feeling that some of them may eventually be compelled to testify in his ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering case.

Former prosecutor Neama Rahmani, who is the president of West Coast Trial Lawyers and very often weighs in on the legal aspects of major celebrity scandals, spoke to the US Sun about that exact thing on Thursday. Rahmani noted that Jay-Z and others could invoke their Fifth Amendment rights and avoid the stand:

“Jay-Z and other celebrities can be subpoenaed, but they will almost certainly assert their Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination and refuse to testify.”

However… there’s a catch! The legal expert went on to note the wrinkle that may have Diddy’s famous associates sweating it out right now:

“People who participated in the sex acts should especially be afraid because they can also be charged with sex trafficking or prostitution, depending on whether they used threats or force against the victims. If Jay-Z is just a witness who didn’t participate in the sex acts, he may be subpoenaed to testify at trial.”

Damn!!

Nevertheless, Rahmani noted that the testimony plan may really only go one of two ways when it’s all said and done:

“But I don’t think he will be subpoenaed if he was a participant. He’ll either be charged or not called to testify. If you’re a prosecutor, you don’t want witnesses who participated in criminal activity but are getting a pass.”

No kidding! And obviously, there is a considerable amount of time between now and any potential trial, so a LOT could happen in the coming months. But still, Jay-Z and the Bad Boy Records mogul have been close friends for many years — like, 30 of ’em! So, if any famous person knows anything about Diddy, Jay-Z might have some unique insight just on account of how long the two of them have been pals.

BTW, Rahmani also weighed in on Diddy’s long-standing abuse allegations after ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura first sued him for rape and physical abuse and then quickly settled. The video that came out after their settlement was extremely notable, according to Rahmani, because it left prosecutors with a lay-up leading to an indictment:

“The video of him beating Cassie was so disturbing that he’s already lost the PR battle and he’s probably the most toxic person in America right now. I am surprised it took prosecutors six months to charge him after his Los Angeles and Miami homes were raided.”

But regardless, Rahmani did advise that it was interesting regarding how long prosecutors took to get their proverbial ducks in a row with Diddy. The legal expert pondered whether there might be a very chilling reason for that:

“Normally, an indictment happens in a matter of days or weeks after a raid, because you don’t want a defendant to flee, destroy evidence, or tamper with witnesses. I think prosecutors were concerned the victims in the case may go sideways at trial. Many of them have sued Combs, who is reportedly worth $1 billion. Combs could enter into civil settlements, pay them off, and discourage them from testifying. Or he could intimidate the victims, which isn’t far-fetched if you believe the allegations in the indictment or civil lawsuits.”

That intimidation worry is the same one prosecutors currently have regarding Diddy and his associates, so… yeah.
