17 million children in the US suffer from sort form of malnutrition or hunger, but that number could begin to rapidly shrink thanks to the help of Jeff Bridges and the charity, “Share Our Strength.”
During a speech, Jeff announced that he and the charity have the goal to end child hunger in the US within 5 years.
He outlined some of the challenges that they will face in their journey towards ending hunger, such as lack of transportation, public shame, an overall lack of awareness about available food programs, and the demoralizing and confusing application procedures for food programs.
“There are many issues this country is in disagreement about,” said Bridges. “Eradicating childhood hunger is not among them.”
