Flipping out isn’t always the answer, y’all.
Jeff Lewis revealed he and ex-partner Gage Edward are looking for a new preschool for their daughter Monroe Christine after the Flipping Out alum inadvertently got the two-year-old expelled from the elite Montessori preschool she had been attending.
On Tuesday’s episode of his SiriusXM radio show Jeff Lewis Life, the 49-year-old revealed the decision to kick out Monroe was made by school administrators after they received complaints about negative comments Lewis had made about the school on his show.

The comments in question apparently included criticisms Lewis shared about a recent “Back to School Night” for parents, and an incident where he read two internal emails from parents and mocked them.
Lewis, for his part, said he learned a valuable lesson in s**t talking. He apologized for his words in Thursday’s episode, saying:
“Apparently I’ve mentioned a few things about the school on air. I take full responsibility… I am really, really sorry. I feel terrible about what happened. I know how it has affected Monroe. I will never do this again… If I’m going to s**t talk, I’m going to do it off the air, obviously.”
That’s a good rule to go by!
While he was remorseful for his comments, Jeff admitted he was still frustrated the school wouldn’t give his daughter a second chance.
Lewis explained he spoke to the institution’s headmistress the day after getting the call about the expulsion. He apparently apologized to her and asked for a second chance, but she reportedly shot him down. He continued:
“The conversation lasted 20 minutes. For the first 12-13 minutes I groveled and then when I realized there was no hope, it got a bit contentious. I said, ‘I cannot believe this is the Montessori way!’ You don’t get to make amends. There are no second chances, no warnings — nothing. It was immediately, ‘They’re expelled.'”
Joking how the school is “tougher than Sirius,” Lewis said he and the school’s headmistress argued from there.
She apparently told the reality star he had “bullied two of [her] mothers” on air — to which he replied:
“I said, ‘Are you kidding me? Bullied? I read two emails! I didn’t say somebody was fat, all I did was read two emails!'”
Eh, not exactly. Lewis also made jokes on his show about how one of the mothers looked like a woman who would go to a key party!

The headmistress said she only received one complaint; and while it wasn’t from either of the parents he roasted on air, she insisted she was “expecting their call any day.”
At that point, Lewis flipped his lid:
“I said, ‘You know what is bulls**t? The fact that you said at ‘Back to School Night’ how much you care about our kids. What a crock. You care so much about my kid you’re going to kick her out without any sort of ability to have a second chance?'”
In the end, Lewis said the experience made him realize Montessori wasn’t the right fit for his daughter. He explained:
“I picked the wrong school. Next time, I’m going to trust my gut. I felt like the school was too regimented, too structured. I think, it’s not a college prep course. It’s preschool… Everyone takes themselves so seriously at that school. I think these people are arrogant, they’re pretentious… I don’t want Monroe to be in a strict school with overachievers and massive homework. She has her whole life to be stressed out. It’s preschool, let her be a kid and have fun.”
Meanwhile, the interior designer and his former partner of 10 years — who split in January and only recently came to a temporary custody agreement — are looking for a new school for their daughter.
Of course, finding a new institution won’t be easy, as “school’s already in session, all the seats are full, [and] there’s waiting lists for next year,” Lewis said.
At least now he can tell the world how he really feels!
