Newly uncovered reports of Jeffrey Epstein‘s final days in prison have made the story of his death all the more complicated.
In case you need a refresher, prison guard Tova Noel (pictured above, inset) and her co-guard Michael Thomas were both fired from their positions after it was discovered Epstein was dead. At the time, they even got some criminal charges because prosecutors alleged they failed to do their jobs — which included doing rounds every 30 minutes to check on the prisoners in the Special Housing Unit. Those charges were later dropped, but newly released docs are finally giving the public the full story.
Per a newly released record from the FBI, Officer Noel allegedly did a Google search of “latest on Epstein in jail” less than an hour before Officer Thomas found him dead in his cell. She made the search around 5:42 a.m. before searching the same thing again 10 minutes later. Epstein was found dead at 6:30 a.m.
Back in 2021, during a sworn statement to the Department of Justice, Noel denied searching for Epstein. She said she didn’t “remember doing that” and that the information wasn’t “accurate”:
“I don’t recall looking him up.”
The officer further claimed that NO ONE ever did those 30 minute checks like they were supposed to:
“I’ve never worked in the Special Housing Unit and actually done rounds every 30 minutes.”

It’s also noted in the Google search files that she searched for Omar Amanat, who was also an inmate in her unit at the time. So Epstein wasn’t the only prisoner there that she was looking up info on.
But that’s not the only suspicious information these newly released docs highlighted. A DOJ file revealed Chase Bank flagged some deposits in her bank account for “suspicious activity” and submitted that to the FBI. 12 deposits started in April 2018, but the docs only have her banking info as far back as December 2018.
Starting in December 2018, the legal files show seven of the alleged 12 deposits, which total up to $11,880. Hmm… we mean, that’s not really that much money in the grand scheme of things, but one of those deposits was $5,000, and it was reportedly made just 10 days before he was found.
It’s also noted Noel started working at the Special Housing Unit where Epstein was found dead just WEEKS before the discovery. Despite this, she wasn’t asked about those deposits during her sworn-in statement.
Another piece of information that these docs cover is how the FBI believes Noel was the mysterious figure in the security footage released last summer that shows someone entering Epstein’s cell the night before his death. The video shows an orange blob seemingly supplying the convicted pedophile with extra linens, which started tons of conspiracy theories online.
The DOJ wrote in their filings:
“At approximately 10:40 pm, a correctional officer, believed to be Tova Noel, carried linen or inmate clothing up to the L-Tier, last time any correctional officer approached the only entrance to the SHU tier.”
What makes this so troubling is Epstein allegedly hanged himself with strips of orange cloth… But in her sworn statement, Noel vehemently denies that she knows anything about that.
She said she didn’t know how or why Epstein had extra linen in his cell, and that she “never gave out linen — ever” because the shift before hers always did it. She also claimed to last see the inmate alive “somewhere around after 10” and that the other guard on duty with her was asleep between 10 and midnight that night.
It’s also worth noting that when prosecutors straight-up asked her if she had anything to do with Epstein’s death, she had a firm and short answer:
“No.”
Lots of info here to take in. Thoughts, Perezcious readers?
