It’s crazy to think this saga has been going on for seven years!
In a new interview with Us Weekly, Jenelle Evans opened up on her dramatic custody battle over her son Jace. The Teen Mom 2 star originally handed her parental rights over to mom Barbara Evans in 2009 due to her drug use and excessive partying.

Over the years, we’ve watched Jenelle and Barbara duke it out over the legal issue time and time again. While Evans has repeatedly expressed interest in regaining custody of Jace now that she’s supposedly in a better place, her momma still thinks she’s unstable. Not to mention Babs thinks moving the cute kid out of her home would be traumatic since it’s all he’s ever known.
Now J.E. is speaking out on the legal drama AGAIN, saying it’s only a matter of months before she gets Jace back:
“We haven’t even had, like, one real court date trial for Jace’s case. It’s been going for a year and a half and my lawyer has been going to court for me and my mom’s lawyer has been continuing it. She continued it three different times ├óΓé¼┬ª hopefully we get this all resolved in October when the court date comes.”
Well, we’d like to see this issue “resolved” either way! The fighting has gone on way too long.
As for why Jenelle thinks Mrs. Evans is making the transition so difficult, she reasoned:
“I think she’s just too attached right now. I mean, I don’t understand what the issue is with him being back with me and I don’t see what the big deal is. But I think she’s just making up excuses because she’s attached. Like right now, if I bring it up to her she’s like, ├óΓé¼╦£Well let’s see what the judge says, well let’s see what the judge says.’ So she won’t even discuss it with me.”
Yikes! This sounds like a really tough and emotional situation, especially since B.E. expressed doubts about her daughter’s sincerity in the recent Being Barbara special.
The controversial TV momma went on to complain:
“I’m trying to be nice because that’s my mom, but at the same time it’s like I want to cuss her out every time I see her because she doesn’t even want to talk to me about it. And at the same time I’m like, ├óΓé¼╦£Why are you doing this? You’re my mom!'”
Despite all the complications, the 23-year-old is confident things will turn out in her favor:
“I’m just waiting to go to court! That’s all! I’m ready, I’m prepared. I’m just waiting to go.”
Hmm… we guess we’ll just have to wait and see how things turn out! Hopefully the newly pregnant momma will get the outcome she wants.
