Hollywood’s elite are turning up and showing off ahead of the Oscars, whether they’re nominated or not!
AKA, there are plenty of pre-award show parties attended by all celebrities, making for the perfect ground for a friendly (or not so friendly) run-in with an ex.

On Thursday, the starry Sunset Tower Hotel in Hollywood made for the perfect setting for Jennifer Aniston and ex John Mayer to meet up for late-night dessert.
The 50-year-old arrived with close friend Amanda Anka — co-producer of Aniston’s AppleTV+ series The Morning Show — before her ex arrived at the hotel’s Tower Bar along with pal Andy Cohen. The pair briefly dated from 2008 to 2009, after meeting at an Oscars party no less!
A source shared with Page Six:
“John Mayer and Andy had dinner at the San Vicente Bungalows earlier on Thursday, then headed to the Sunset Tower for dessert with Jennifer. It wasn’t a romantic meeting, they are good friends, the four of them had dessert.”
The foursome reportedly discussed plans for Jen’s upcoming 51st birthday on February 11. As you’ll likely remember, when she turned the big 5-0 in 2019 quite a stir was caused when Brad Pitt attended her bash. We’ll keep you posted on his whereabouts this year!

Meanwhile, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus did not seem to have such a friendly pre-Academy Awards run in. While it is unclear if the two actually saw each other inside, we’re sure word quickly spread around the WME party — also attended by Jason Momoa, Usher, Jonah Hill, Miguel, Rami Malek, and Michael B. Jordan — in Beverly Hills that the other was in attendance.
Each half of the former pair were spotted flying solo (see the photos HERE), and it doesn’t appear as if hot Aussies Gabriella Brooks or Cody Simpson were at the soirée as +1’s for The Last Song co-stars. Let’s not forget that their divorce technically isn’t finalized just yet, despite reaching a settlement around the holidays in December. The papers are not signed, sealed and delivered until February 22.
A source shared with Us Weekly more about the encounter:
“They stayed away from each other. Liam left when Miley and her parents got there. Miley’s parents were staying separate from Liam and were hanging out in the back area of the party. They avoided him, but didn’t seem they had any beef with him. Miley also didn’t seem to be bothered by the fact that Liam was there because he left soon after she walked in.”
But there’s no harsh feelings! The insider explained:
“Liam doesn’t have bad feelings toward Miley, he just wants to move forward with his life. He’s happy with Gabriella [Brooks].”
