Scientists Named A WHAT After Jennifer Lopez? Is That Flattering Or Insulting??

We bet Jennifer Lopez is equal parts flattered and confused after scientists named a new species after her.
The weird part? The species was a water mite!
That’s right, A BUG!!
The thing is, the water mite was found in Puerto Rico and not only does J. Lo have Puerto Rican roots, her music kept the scientists pumped while they worked! Also, she’s smokin’ hot!
A biologist involved in the discovery of the new species said:

“The reason behind the unusual choice of name for the new species is… simple: J.Lo’s songs and videos kept the team in a continuous good mood when writing the manuscript and watching World Cup Soccer 2014.”

She should totally feel honored because the mite is pretty bad ass.
The new mite, Litarachna lopezae, is from a coral reef in Mona Passage, a dangerous patch of water between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
The mite was found almost 230 feet under water, the deepest a mite of this type has been found!
