What the heck were Matt Damon and Jennifer Lopez talking about??
The stars were spotted apparently having a deep conversation at a Toronto International Film Festival after party late Friday night. The pair were both in attendance at the premiere of her new movie Unstoppable, which Matt co-produced with Ben Affleck. Ben, of course, chose to skip the premiere so as not to make things awkward. Well, with his bestie there, mission not exactly accomplished, as it turns out!
Like we said, Matt and J.Lo were seen sitting off to one side, just the two of them, heads down, even holding hands! The convo lasted about 20 minutes. And man, wouldn’t you want to be a fly on the wall for that one?

Well, as it turns out someone was… an insider told DailyMail.com Jennifer was trying to talk to Matt about their mutual boyfriend. But when she brought up Ben, the Good Will Hunting star was “not having any of it”:
“Matt Damon shut down any attempt that JLo made to discuss Ben at the premiere.”
Damn! She was really trying to get the goods on Ben?! Maybe she asked what he’s saying about the breakup behind her back? Or maybe she wanted to know what’s really going on with Kick Kennedy, much like the rest of us?
In any case, it was such a high school move — only on a grander, glitzier scale! And that’s what left Matt peeved! The insider explained:
“It was her timing that was so awkward because she would have known that pulling Matt aside at the event to have an intimate talk was going to get picked up and go viral.”
The source clarified Matt “was not ‘praying’ with her” as some thought from the hands. No, that was all for looks, says the insider:
“Her whole hand on his hand was a nice touch – but he was not having any of it.”
Damn, they really read Jen’s actions as being totally calculated — both in keeping him from denying her AND in going viral for the world to see… or maybe just an audience of one? But like the insider said, Matt was not biting:
“He told her he is glad she is doing well and is thankful for her participation in the film — but he made it clear he was not there to talk about Ben at all.”
Presumably he then went back to hanging out with his wife Luciana Barroso, who did come to Toronto as his plus-one?
Anyway, as it turns out he gave J.Lo nothing. Because he’d never betray his bestie’s trust. The source reiterated Matt will “always have Ben’s back no matter what.”
