How Jennifer Lopez Feels After 'Fairy Tale' Second Chance With Ben Affleck 'Turned Out To Be A Nightmare'

Now that things are officially over between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, the 55-year-old pop superstar is trying to get on with her career, her life, and her future.

As we reported on Monday, Bennifer officially settled their divorce. Terms of the settlement were surprisingly seamless and simple, which is a very good thing for both parties. And now, J.Lo has her focus turned to what’s ahead, where she hopes brighter days await!

On Tuesday, a source spoke to People about where the Atlas star currently stands following her and Affleck’s joint decision to legally settle the last remaining questions of their ill-fated marriage and move on. Per that insider, J.Lo had high hopes for what might have been for the couple before things were so horribly dashed at the end of their union:

“The fairy tale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end.”

Oof.

But!! Brighter days are ahead!

As dark and despairing as that quote sounds, the Waiting For Tonight singer is apparently optimistic about what may come next. The insider quickly added this statement to wrap the post-divorce push on a high note:

“She’s in a really good place and just wants to close the door on this crazy chapter.”

Closing the door on a crazy chapter, indeed.

And Jen isn’t the only one doing that! As you may recall, near the end of last year, a separate source spoke to the same mag about the Good Will Hunting alum’s own desire to move forward after divorce. That previous insider claimed back in November that Affleck was “very happy with life” after splitting from his second chance bride, and added:

“He enjoys working. He seems to be in a good place.”

So Ben back then was in “a good place,” and J.Lo right now is in “a really good place.” It’s the battle of the good places!

Do y’all buy it in either case, Perezcious readers? Has it been all good in the ‘hood for Ben?! Is it now equally as optimistic for his now-ex-wife?? Or is there a lot of cope cropping up now that the marriage is officially dead, and both parties must move on in a situation that neither one expected to be facing a year or so ago??
