Eric Johnson, you dirty dog!
Jessica Simpson released a new single from her upcoming Nashville Canyon: Part 1 EP on Friday, and this song y’all? Oh, she sounds pissed off! And we can’t blame her!
The lyrics on Leave basically confirm all those reports that have been circulating since she and her estranged husband broke up — that he was stepping out! Jess went full Alanis Morissette on this one, and exposed his dirtiest laundry in the angriest way! She doesn’t say his name, but… They’ve been married for years, come on! Who else is she talking about, Johnny Knoxville??

We heard Eric had been going out partying without Jessica, who had decided to get sober — and even that he was a shameless flirt with other women at bars! The former reality star even caught him! However, he may have gone a lot further than just flirting! At least, that’s what Jessica heavily implies on her new track! She drags Eric throughout Leave for cheating on her with another woman! The second the song starts, the country artist goes off as she sings:
“What we had was magic / Now you made it tragic / Giving her what you gave to me”
“Giving her what you gave to me”?? Uh, yeah… It gets even more explicit…
“Now the well that you drank from’s empty / Your weakness made me lonely / Unholy matrimony / Did you do to her what you did to me / Was she on her knees / Oh, she’s everything but me”
“Did you do to her what you did to me / Was she on her knees”! OMG! No wonder why she left him! And after Eric did her so dirty? She would rather be alone than stay with him! She made that crystal clear in the chorus, singing:
“Oh, I, I want you to leave / I don’t even wanna breathe the air you breathe / Oh, I, I’d rather die / Then let you be inside me with her on your mind / I am stronger on my own / So hold on / I’m letting you go”
Damn! Get it off your chest, girl!
And Jessica doesn’t hold back as the song continues! She goes on to drop these shocking lyrics:
“How’d this even happen / I can just imagine / I wanna know then again I don’t / She get you off dressing up in my clothes”
Oh s**t! As in Jessica’s actual clothes? Or her fashion line?? Damn, either way… Jess adds:
“Don’t say you love me / Don’t even try to touch me / If you were me you’d fall to pieces / I make heartbreak look damn easy”
Wow! This is about to become the rage anthem for anyone who gets cheated on! We guess that’s the only thing we can thank Eric for! One helluva breakup song!
It sucks it came with the price of hurting Jessica, though! You can listen to a snippet of the track (below):
