Jimmy Kimmel Says Son Billy Is 'Doing Great' & 'Thinks He's Spider-Man' Two Years After Heart Surgery!

Jimmy Kimmel gives update on son Billy's health.

Years after undergoing heart surgery in 2017, Jimmy Kimmel’s son is now living his best 2-year-old life!

The late night legend gave an update on his son Billy at L.A. Loves Alex’s Lemonade Brings Together Culinary & Entertainment Stars over the weekend, revealing the tot is “doing great” and healthier than ever.

He told Us Weekly:

“[Billy] thinks he’s Spider-Man now, so we’re safe from crime. He wears the costume all the time. He’s shooting webs all over the house.”

Sounds messy! But fun!

Kimmel said Billy hasn’t worn his superhero outfit to school, but claims his son “goes to preschool as his secret identity” and “turns into Spider-Man when he comes home.”

He’s got the superhero thing down pat! As you can see (below) from Kimmel’s IG page:

It’s so great to hear Billy is growing into a happy, rambunctious kid, seeing as he had a serious health crisis shortly after he was born.

As we reported, Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney welcomed their second child in April 2017. Three hours after he was born, doctors noticed he had a heart murmur and appeared purple. He was soon diagnosed with tetralogy of fallot with pulmonary atresia, which happens when the pulmonary valve is blocked and there is a hole in the wall.

The following month, Kimmel detailed the scary procedure on his late night ABC show, telling viewers:

“On Monday morning, Dr. Vaughn Starnes opened his chest and fixed one of the two defects in his heart. He went in there with a scalpel and did some kind of magic that I couldn’t even begin to explain. He opened the valve, and the operation was a success. It was the longest three hours of my life.”

Thankfully, it all worked out in the end.

Nowadays, Kimmel — who also fathers Katie, 28, and Kevin, 25, from his first marriage — is dealing with regular dad problems; like how his kids “don’t seem to care” about his job, despite him being on TV every night.

He explained to Us:

“If I see a billboard with my face on it, I’ll pull over and I make them get up on the roof of the car just so they can really appreciate it, but they don’t. They think everybody’s father’s on TV. Because to them, that’s what’s normal. I don’t think they know the difference between TV and the iPhone really.”

At this point, we’re not sure if we do either…

So happy to hear Jimmy’s son is in good health. Now go save the world, Billy!
