From Donald Trump to Spencer Pratt, Jimmy Kimmel is taking aim at a new reality star turned politician! But The Hills star fired right back!
In Wednesday’s opening monologue, the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host ripped the hummingbird whisperer, who is currently running to be the Mayor of LA. As we’ve been following, the 42-year-old was inspired to get into politics after last year’s California wildfires destroyed his Pacific Palisades home. Unhappy with the way the city has been run, Spencer wants to take it into his own hands to make positive change, and Kimmel acknowledged he’s “understandably upset about his house burning down.” However, the comedian said he doesn’t think that’s enough to run for office:
“Since he’s a moderately famous person, he gets attention. He’s on the news. He’s on social media. For the first time in his life, people are agreeing with what he has to say. It’s hard not to agree with what he has to say. He’s angry about the same problems a lot of people here are angry about. Does he have solutions to those problems? No. But at least he’s acknowledging that they are problems.”

Jimmy went on:
“So, then this angry reality star — who grew up wealthy and popular and is not very wealthy or popular anymore — really starts to enjoy the attention. He starts to think, ‘I should be mayor,’ which is a statement that should make everyone laugh. But not everyone is laughing. Not everyone sees this as a joke. Right now, if you believe the polls, 22% of them are going, ‘You know what? You should be mayor.’”
The host pointed out the similarities between Spencer’s campaign and when Trump first announced he was entering the race to become president in 2015:
“You think this guy wants to sit through city council meetings all day talking about zoning? No, he wants to be a star again. And guess what? It’s working. He’s everywhere. People show up to see him speak. He’s doing interviews. He’s making deals for a new reality show. It’s exactly what Donald Trump did.”
Referring to the businessman’s NBC show The Apprentice, the 58-year-old added:
“Donald Trump ran for president because his TV show was going to get cancelled and he wanted to be relevant again.”

Kimmel ended his rant by addressing the upcoming primary:
“So if you don’t want to vote for Karen Bass on June 2nd, I get it. But you better find somebody else to vote for and preferably someone who isn’t wasting our time and money to get himself back on television.”

So what does Spencer have to say about it? Not seeming to mind too much, he tweeted on Thursday:
“Jimmy’s secretly voting for me”

He also tweeted:
“When people criticize me for not having experience, I’m a lifelong Angeleno who’s seen my home city waste away under poor leadership. THAT is my experience. Just like you. Vote for LA. Vote today.”

As for the claims that Spencer wants to be relevant again, well, he’s consistently stayed relevant with his online presence. He’s also denied reports that he’s using his campaign to film a new reality show.
What do you think of all this? Would U vote for Spencer? Let us know in the comments!
