And according to sources, economy worriers would NOT have approved!
In the unauthorized book, The Obamas, Jodi Kantor claims that the White House held a Alice in Wonderland themed Halloween party in 2009, hosted by Tim Burton and Johnny Depp.
The journalist claims that the party was secret so it wouldn’t except voters about the economy.
Kantor wrote the following in her book:
White House officials were so nervous about how a splashy, Hollywood-esque party would look to jobless Americans — or their representatives in Congress, who would soon vote on health care — that the event was not discussed publicly and Burton├óΓé¼Γäós and Depp├óΓé¼Γäós contributions went unacknowledged,
But the White House isn’t taking Kantor’s claims lying down.
Spokesman Eric Schultz states that everyone and the mothers knew about the party, as it was posted on the White House web site and on Depp’s website as well.
The White House’s overall sentiment of the book: an “overdramatization of old news.”
Still, that must have been an AMAZING party.
Who do U believe? Is the Halloween party really a secret?
The Obamas releases Tuesday January 10th.
