While we’re seriously going to miss President Barack Obama when he finishes out his second term this January, Joe Biden no longer being our VP may just be a bigger loss.
That’s because while both Democrats will go down in history for their progressive politics, only one of them has officiated a same-sex wedding!

Gay marriage has been legal in America for just over a year now, so Joe decided to celebrate that fact on Monday by performing a ceremony for White House staffers Joe Mahshie and Brian Mosteller!
Not only was this the Vice President’s first go at officiating any type of wedding — he got a special one-time license just for the happy couple — but he actually let them tie the knot in his own home at the Naval Observatory.
Following the immediate family-only service, Joe congratulated the newlyweds on Twitter, saying:
“Proud to marry Brian and Joe at my house. Couldn’t be happier, two longtime White House staffers, two great guys.”
Awwwww!!!
So… How long until Tim Kaine gets to officiate a lesbian wedding??
