Johnny Depp Stayed Sober For Rum Diary

Quite the feat to stay sober during a movie about loving rum and playing an alcoholic!
But for Johnny Depp and his director, it was a pact that they would not partake during filming:

“I am a fan of rum but Bruce Robinson, the director, and I made a pact prior to going down to Puerto Rico to shoot that we would abstain. We knew that the easy way would be — do your work day and then have some rum. So we did two months without anything.”

That’s not very fun, but we support that work ethic!
It’ll be weird knowing that he’s just pretending to be drunk when we see the movie now, though!
