JoJo Enlists Zelda Williams' Help To Save My Soul! See The Emotional Music Video About Addiction!

This song clearly comes straight from JoJo‘s Soul.
The brunette beauty wanted to do something special for her Save My Soul music video, considering the powerful ballad is her most personal production.
The 25-year-old explained that the raw song is about a struggle near and dear to her heart, saying:

Save My Soul is about addiction. Of all kinds. I wanted to convey the feeling of powerlessness I’ve felt in my life in an uncomplicated way and show a range of what it might look like for others who’ve been there.”

The pop princess dropped the emotional vid on Friday, which is actually what would have been her late father’s 61st birthday.

The singer’s poppa, Joel Levesque, recently passed away, so she scheduled the release as a way to pay tribute to him, adding:

“We filmed this video about a month before my father lost his decades long battle with addiction. His death honestly felt like it came out of nowhere├óΓé¼┬ªand yet I had been mourning him for years├óΓé¼┬ªif that makes any sense. I know all too well from seeing it around me that the fight is not easy. It’s every day. All consuming. I’m not mad at my dad. I love him and I’m sad. He is my greatest heartbreak. This song, which had always been personal to me, takes on even deeper meaning now.”

The musician enlisted the help of her famous friend Zelda Williams to direct the clip, considering she also lost her father — the late, great Robin Williams.
The 26-year-old explained why she signed on for the project, revealing:

“It’s not even our shared experiences with addiction and loved ones who suffered from them, though that is the very real inspiration behind this song and video├óΓé¼┬ª In the end, the thing I am most grateful for is the trust Jo had in me to help her tell a story I know has been percolating in her for a very, very long time.”
