Oh boy.
Just when we thought this was over with, Jon Hamm has brought the drama back up again with new comments in which he DEFENDS what he said about Kim Kardashian.
To refresh your memory, Jon called Kim “a f**king idiot” and said that her popularity just means that “stupidity is celebrated.”
Kim then responded with this:
“Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, ‘stupid,’ is in my opinion careless.”
But instead of backtracking, the Mad Men star defended his words, saying:
“I don├óΓé¼Γäót think they were careless; I think they were accurate. It├óΓé¼Γäós a part of our culture that I certainly don├óΓé¼Γäót identify with, and I don├óΓé¼Γäót really understand the appeal of it other than in a sort of car crash sensibility.
And it├óΓé¼Γäós not something that I partake in or enjoy, but it is what is and here we are. There are a lot of channels on the dials and those channels need to be filled up with things: It├óΓé¼Γäós different strokes for different folks.”
Even his Mad Men co-star Vincent Kartheiser agreed with Jon, adding:
“I think our society enjoys to turn on the television and see someone who’s maybe awful and they can say, ‘Maybe I’m not as terrible as that person.'”
OH WOW.
They are NOT messing around with their words!
They have a point, but we’re just going to stay mum on this.
Who is right? Jon? Kim? Vincent??
