Jon Stewart Breaks Down Crying On The Daily Show -- Mourning His Beloved Dog Dipper

Jon Stewart was in tears on Monday night while mourning his dog.

During the comedian’s late-night hosting gig on The Daily Show, the 61-year-old revealed his beloved pooch Dipper died on Sunday, seemingly from old age. Noting that his entire family was with him for the heartbreaking goodbye, he shared:

“He was ready. He was tired. But I wasn’t.”

Aww!! It’s always so hard to lose a pet! They truly are part of the family.

Dipper had been a part of the Stewart clan for a long time after they adopted him from a NYC-based no-kill shelter called Animal Haven when his kids were young. The puppy was about a year old at the time, and he’d been hit by a car, which left him with just three legs. He quickly became part of the “OG” pack of dogs at the Comedy Central show, where he met many of the guests his pops interviewed. And, honestly, he sounded like he was truly a man’s best friend! Jon teared up saying:

“In a world of good boys, he was the best.”

After reflecting on the impact Dipper had on his life, the host told the audience:

“My wish for you is one day you find that dog. That one dog that just is the best.”

So emotional!!
