Convicted Pedophile Admits To Killing JonBenet Ramsey In Disturbing Prison Letter, Police Are Investigating

A child predator has confessed to killing JonBenet Ramsey more than two decades after the six-year-old pageant queen’s unsolved murder
Gary Oliva (pictured above), a convicted pedophile currently serving a 10-year sentence in a Colorado prison for child pornography — and JonBenet’s self-proclaimed biggest fan — admitted in letters to a friend that he “let [JonBenet] slip” and “watched her die” that fateful night in Boulder, Colorado on December 26, 1996.
In the letters, obtained by DailyMailTV, the 54-year-old wrote:

“I never loved anyone like I did JonBenet and yet I let her slip and her head bashed in half and I watched her die. It was an accident. Please believe me. She was not like the other kids.”

The letters were sent to Michael Vail, a former high school classmate of Oliva’s who now works as a publicist in the music industry.

Vail said he’s long suspected Oliva was involved in JonBenet’s tragic murder 22 years ago, telling the publication:

“My suspicions began when Gary called me late at night on December 26, 1996. He was sobbing and said, ‘I hurt a little girl.'”

Vail believes this written confession is enough to get Olivia, who was once jailed for trying to strangle his mother, charged with the crime.
Many suspects, including JonBenet’s older brother Burke Ramsey, have been investigated. Oliva was a suspect in October 2002, with investigators theorizing that he was one of several men who broke into JonBenet’s house and left a ransom note demanding $118,000 for her return.
Nobody has been charged with the beauty queen’s death. But now, Boulder Police are looking into the new information presented in Oliva’s letters. A rep for the station told DailyMail:

“We have passed the [letters] you provided onto investigators. We will not comment on any actions or the status of this investigation.”

Investigators believe JonBenet was murdered on Christmas Day, the night before her father discovered her body in the basement of the family home, through either a blow to the head or strangulation with a garotte.
Oliva’s letters do not reveal why he was at JonBenet’s home that night, but authorities report he was using an address just ten blocks away at the time of the killing.

In another unsettling letter, Oliva described her death as an “accident,” writing:

“JonBenet completely changed me and removed all evil from me. Just one look at her beautiful face, her glowing beautiful skin, and her divine God-body, I realized I was wrong to kill other kids. Yet by accident she died and it was my fault.”

Oliva penned the confession from his cell in Limon Correctional Facility in Colorado, where he’s serving time after being arrested in 2016 for possessing child pornography on his phone.
According to DailyMail, the police report for his 2016 arrest showed his phone also contained hundreds of photos of JonBenet when it was seized by officers.
Oliva is due for parole in October 2020… for now.
